The invasive Asian snakehead fish can live out of water for up to three days; the ones found in Lee County, TN were up to two feet long.
Once Arkansas Game and Fish was able to chopper in and ID the fish, poison was used to destroy them as over 90 were found fairly easily (Phone interview with Jeff Farwick, Arkansas Fish and Game Commission).
